Ferbane Food Campus is a state-of-the-art time-share kitchen rental and training facility, situated in the heart of the Midlands in Ferbane Business and Technology Park in Co. Offaly.
Ferbane Business and Technology Park Ltd is a community-owned not-for-profit Company with charitable status comprising 12 local Board members whose principal purpose is to generate employment opportunities in the Ferbane and West Offaly area.
In June 2013 Donal Egan was taken Donal Egan is the full-time Business Development Manager for the Business Park and Food Campus and he is responsible for on-site training, marketing, administration and mentoring for businesses on site. Donal has extensive experience in the food industry including as a chef, trainer,food product developer.
Ferbane Food Campus is the first time-share kitchen facility of its kind to be developed within the Midlands and it was developed with support funding from Offaly Local Development Company, the ESB sponsored “ West Offaly Enterprise Fund” managed by Offaly Co Council and Enterprise Ireland.
The Ferbane Food Campus concept was designed to provide supports and infrastructure for start-up artisan food producers and it is considered a one-stop-shop for anyone wishing to start up their own food business or carry out development trials on a new product.
The facility consists of two high spec HACCP approved time-share kitchens which include a fully equipped demo kitchen and separate training room. We are currently developing a new stand-alone commercial kitchen and there are a number of serviced sites available for development or expansion of food businesses.
Ferbane Food Campus runs a range of accredited and non-accredited training courses onsite including: Train the Trainer, Food Safety HACCP, Digital Marketing, I.T. courses and most recently the Food Academy Programme which is supported by Super Value and the Local Enterprise Office.
Supports and services onsite include Brosna Press Creative Design and Print; Optimum Internet Solutions a website developer; Glass Innovations, bottled packaging and design; Gael Pac Food Packaging. Mentoring support and advice from the Board and the Business Development Manager is also provided to tenants at Ferbane Food Campus. A modern childcare facility is on-site at Ferbane Business & Technology Park.
